1610 Lake Las Vegas Parkway Henderson, NV 89011Description
The Colorado River Basin is experiencing its worst drought in history. Beginning in 2000, Lake Mead water levels have dropped more than 130 feet. The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) currently has a Low Lake Level Pumping Station (L3PS) project to alleviate some of the strain and continue providing water to the valley. Combined with the recently completed Lake Mead Intake No. 3 project, the L3PS project will provide continued access to the community’s primary water supply. The project broke ground in mid-2015 and is estimated to finish in 2020 with a budget of approximately $650 million. This tour would comprise of an update of the project’s status along with a behind the scenes view of the construction.
Shuttle loading will begin quickly after lunch for a prompt 2:00 pm departure.
